Neo-classical yellow gold bracelet featuring a central agate cameo depicting the goddess Athena in profile bust, supported by a succession of carnelian intaglios in closed settings with fine chasing, linked by open rings. The engraved scenes are supposed to depict: the dog Argos recognizing his master Ulysses returning home after 20 years' absence - Lion and Satyr (Pan type) with his thyrse - a blacksmith (Hephaistos type) with Eros holding a lowered arrow - Snake man confronting a goat - reclining Aphrodite with floating veil - seated Psyche holding a jug with Eros playing a melody on the double pipes. Hook clasp (loosened - trace of tin soldering) - Safety chain (later addition) - knocks on the frame. Probably Italian Grand Tour work - 19th century. Dim.: 18 x 3 to 4.5 cm - Gross weight: 43.37 gr (585 thousandths)
