French 4/4 violin from Mirecourt, mid-twentieth century, bearing a label "Gustave VILLAUME Nancy, year 1950, number 766", signature on the label, in the Guarnerius model spruce top with very fine rings widening slightly at the edges, two-piece maple back with small, tight, descending waves on either side of the joint, ribs of the same wood matching the back, orange-brown grease varnish, 358mm, very good condition in an old wooden case, with a beewood study bow.
