Interesting French 4/4 violin from Mirecourt in the mid-19th century in the style of the Jules GRANDJON workshops in the GUARNERIUS model, spruce top with finer rings in the center and widening at the edges, one-piece maple back on mesh with very light horizontal waves, ribs of the same wood matching the back, bold orange-red varnish with brown patina with more yellow under tone, 356 mm very good condition in a recent case (new) with a Brazilian-made bow stamped J.FORNACIARI round dark-red pernambuco stick, ebony maillechort frog and knob, 61g with wick and fittings as new.
