Interesting late 18th-century French-made 4/4 violin in the Vieux Paris style bearing a label from J.P.Michelot rue St Honoré Près St Roch A la Mélodie a Paris 1761 . Spruce top with rather irregular fine rings, two-piece maple back on mesh with very slight horizontal waves, same wood sides on layer without waves, yellow-orange gilded varnish, 358 mm, various small varnish accidents and scratches on the head slide, some traces of galling on one side, very good condition in a recent case.
