Late 19th century French 4/4 violin from Mirecourt, by the Charles CLAUDOT workshop, bearing the Le Marquis de l'air d'oiseaux anno iron mark on the back at the foot of the neck, two-piece maple back on mesh with small horizontal light waves, matching ribs of the same wood, orange varnish with brown patina, two small table fractures at the nut, various minor edge and corner accidents, 361 mm in fairly good condition in a recent case.
