Late 18th - early 19th century 4/4 violin, probably French, bearing an apocryphal label of Joannes Baptista Guadagnini, Crémona fécit Parma 1764 C.B.R. . Spruce top with very fine irregular rings in the center and widening on the edges, two-piece maple back with small tight waves slightly crumpled and descending on either side of the joint, ribs with softer waves, orange-brown varnish with darker patina, various table fractures more or less restored, back and fingerboard completely detached, 361mm. As is in a recent case.
