French 4/4 violin from Mirecourt, early 20th century, from the J.T.L workshops, bearing a label N.LUPOT fils Luthier rue d'illiers, à Orléans, L'an 1792 . spruce top with fine, regular rings, two-piece maple back with wide, unwavy ribs, ribs of the same wood matching the back, orange-brown varnish, 358 mm, various delaminations and scratches, small fractures to the top and nut, good condition.
