Icon of the Easter celebrations. Upper part: The resurrection: Christ, surrounded by a mandorla, rises from his tomb under the gaze of the soldiers. With his right hand outstretched, he beckons angels to go and deliver the souls trapped in the depths of limbo. One of them, in front of the door, hits a demon with his sword. Lower part: The descent into limbo: Christ in the center of a mandorla pulls Adam out of the mouth of Leviathan, whose eye can be seen on the far left. Adam is followed by ve, behind them, on the other side, the procession of the righteous moves towards the kingdom of Heaven. At the head, Saint John the Baptist, behind him, the kings David and Solomon, then the procession of the saints ended by Saint John holding a chalice.
